About the Founder

GT Fitness and Wellbeing was established by Gideon Forbes, a qualified primary school teacher (with 10+ years experience), personal trainer and CrossFit coach.

“As a primary school teacher, I discovered that functional fitness sessions created the most effective PE lessons. In comparison to regular PE, functional fitness offers opportunities for accessible skills development and an inclusive workout, allowing children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to fully engage and feel part of the group.

Now, along with our work with children, I use functional fitness with all my personal training clients too. Whether it’s so you can travel the world and climb mountains, improve your cardiovascular health or simply make sure you can play with your grandchildren for years to come, functional fitness is a great way to improve your overall health and fitness helping you to also maintain your mental health, wellbeing and keep you moving and active you for life."
